A new senior living residence is set to open in Valladolid, with Soul & Habitat leading the full interior design

Valladolid prepares to open a next-generation care residence designed to offer comfort, dignity and contemporary living for older adults.

Spanning approx. 8,000 m² across six levels, the interiors are signed by Soul & Habitat, a boutique design studio known for its ability to blend form, function and aesthetic coherence. Rooted in hospitality experience and elevated by residential sensibility, the concept embraces the intersection of art, nature, design and wellbeing.

The centre will feature a spacious, light-filled café where natural light defines the atmosphere. Beyond being a meeting point, the space integrates reading and working corners, fostering interaction between residents and their families in a warm and flexible environment. Artistic expression plays a central role, with curated murals promoting reflection and emotional engagement. Gentle lighting and warm materials amplify a sense of serenity and balance.

A model of living: small homes within the home

To enhance a sense of intimacy and belonging, the residence will include ten “conviviality units” – small clusters conceived as individual homes within the larger setting. Rooms have been designed to prioritise comfort and sensory wellbeing. Indirect lighting, vibrant yet harmonious colour palettes, and carefully considered headboard designs foster a nurturing, uplifting atmosphere.

This new care centre marks a progressive shift in how elder environments are imagined. It proves that art, nature, design and function can converge to elevate the experience of ageing. With an innovative, human-centred approach, the project redefines communal living with purpose and soul.

Where nature meets wellbeing

Common areas have been envisioned to cultivate sensory connection with nature. Strategically designed gardens and green courtyards act as therapeutic and restorative spaces, supporting both emotional and physical wellbeing. This integration of landscape and built environment fosters serenity, reconnection and a sense of calm continuity.
